A big part of healing is leaving behind the people who hurt you the most, even when you loved them deeply. Not out of bitterness. Not out of revenge. But out of respect for your peace.
Healing teaches you that closure doesn’t always come with an apology. Sometimes closure is the moment you stop reopening wounds just to keep someone comfortable in your life.
You are allowed to outgrow spaces where you were constantly misunderstood, neglected, manipulated, or emotionally exhausted. You are allowed to stop explaining your pain to people who benefited from ignoring it.
Protecting your heart is not cruelty. Choosing distance is not weakness. Walking away does not erase the love you had it simply means you finally chose yourself too.
Some people only knew the version of you that tolerated hurt. Healing introduces them to the version of you that no longer does.
And that version deserves peace.
